FSCS Steering Committee Structure and Policies

The FSCS Steering Committee was established in December of 1989, and bylaws were drafted. Jan Feye-Stukas, Minnesota State Data Coordinator, elected as first chair. According to the by-laws, the purpose of the Steering Committee is:

To develop procedures regarding FSCS, including database specifications, output, analysis, and use of data, quality control and training, long range planning, and related matters.

Structure

The Steering Committee is comprised of elected and appointed members. The By-laws prescribe the structure of the FSCS Steering Committee. These state that the steering committee shall consist of: Policies

Policies and procedures determining the work of the Steering Committee are determined by the by-laws. These include election of officers, number of meetings, establishment of sub-committees, and reporting requirements.

Note that on the evaluation form for this conference, you’re asked to recommend candidates for the Steering Committee. Take some time to get to know the other SDCs, ask questions, and don’t hesitate to nominate yourself if you feel you have the time to contribute to the work of the FSCS.
